From June 26 to July 2, 2018, a photographic exhibition entitled Wooden Mosques of Adjara<\/em><\/strong> was held in the exhibition hall of the Giorgi Chubinashvili Centre. The exhibition was organized by Suzanne Harris-Brandts, a Canadian architect and doctoral candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA); Angela Wheeler, a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design; and photographer Vladimir Shioshvili (Georgia\u2013USA).<\/p>

The authors of the exhibition study issues of cultural heritage and national identity in the former Soviet Union.<\/p>

The exhibition presented large-format photographs of the surviving wooden mosques of mountainous Adjara, accompanied by architectural drawings, sketches, annotations, and related materials. An exhibition catalogue and postcards were also made available to visitors.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
