From April 16 to 18 of this year, a meeting was held in Batumi between the project implementation team and representatives of the local network within the framework of the project Limen: Cultural Ports from the Aegean to the Black Sea.<\/em><\/strong> The project is being executed under the auspices of the European Union\u2019s Joint Operational Programme Black Sea Basin.<\/p>

The event was organized by the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM, Thessaloniki), with the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation serving as the project partner in Georgia.<\/p>

During the three days of meetings, the representatives from the G. Chubinashvili Centre\u2014Mariam Didebulidze (Project Director), Mzia Janjalia, and Maka Bulia\u2014met with delegates from the organizations comprising the local network.<\/p>

The participants reviewed and refined the formats, content, and categories of promotional tourism materials, and finalized the registries of historical monuments to be integrated into cultural tourism itineraries. Discussions also focused on the production of a promotional television broadcast designed to popularize the cultural heritage of the Adjara region\u2014and Batumi in particular\u2014alongside the creation of cultural tourism guidebooks and information packages.<\/p>

A distinct session was dedicated to evaluating the design and material specifications of informational signage, comparing the design variants proposed by the European Union with the models currently being developed in Georgia.<\/p>

The meetings were hosted by Shota Rustaveli State University and the Batumi Archaeological Museum. The concluding high-level session was conducted with the participation of the Minister of Education, Culture, and Sport of Adjara, Mr. Giorgi Tavamaishvili, and led by the newly appointed Director of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara, Miranda Charkviani.<\/p>
