The event was organized within the framework of the international project <em>&#8220;Limen: Cultural Ports from the Aegean to the Black Sea,&#8221;<\/em> which is funded under the European Union\u2019s Joint Operational Programme Black Sea Basin.<\/p><p>The meeting was hosted by the project&#8217;s partner institution in Georgia\u2014the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation.<\/p><p>The assembly brought together institutional stakeholders comprising the project&#8217;s Georgian domestic network, including:<\/p><ul><li>The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara<\/li><li>The Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara<\/li><li>The City Hall of Batumi<\/li><li>The Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara<\/li><li>The Niko Berdzenishvili Institute of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University<\/li><li>The Batumi Art Teaching University<\/li><li>The Batumi Archaeological Museum<\/li><li>The Khariton Akhvlediani Adjara Museum<\/li><li>The Port of Batumi<\/li><\/ul><p>During the sessions, key speakers (Mariam Didebulidze, David Khoshtaria, and Giorgi Tughushi) presented papers outlining the overarching goals and objectives of the <em>Limen<\/em> project, alongside critical matters relating to the sustainable development of cultural tourism in Georgia. The programmatic themes addressed included: the European Union&#8217;s &#8220;European Capital of Culture&#8221; initiative; national tourism and cultural tourism policies in Georgia; strategic outlooks for sustainable and cultural tourism; and heritage management in relation to cultural tourism (incorporating past experiences, systemic issues, and future benchmarks).<\/p><p>The presented topics engaged the participants in constructive analysis, sparking an active discussion regarding the challenges confronting the growth of cultural tourism.
