On September 5, the Heritage Conservation Laboratory at the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation hosted a lecture by Dr. Erkan Kambek (Istinye University, Istanbul), a specialist in architectural restoration. The lecture was titled: Restoration of the Sheikh Ahmed Kamil Efendi Building: The Wall Paintings of the Tevhidhane.
The event was held with the support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, within the framework of the project titled Research into Wall Paintings and Decorative Elements in Islamic Architectural Monuments on the Territory of Georgia and Development of Conservation Recommendations (FR-24-26235), which was a winning proposal in the 2025 Fundamental Research Grant Competition.
