In August 2014, with financial support from the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, the G. Chubinashvili Centre commenced work on the project to develop a Management Plan for the Gelati Monastery Complex. On October 24, within the premises of the Kutaisi Historical-Architectural Museum-Reserve, members of the project’s working group (M. Didebulidze, D. Khoshtaria, K. Mikeladze, N. Chitishvili, N. Natsvlishvili, M. Gabunia, and I. van der Weide) convened a consultation meeting with relevant stakeholders, including representatives from the local eparchy, the monastery clergy, and local government authorities. The attendees were briefed on the project’s primary goals and objectives, as well as the progress of the work completed thus far. The participants shared their perspectives and recommendations regarding the framework of the management plan and addressed ongoing structural and administrative challenges facing the site.
