On March 5, 2014, the Center hosted a meeting with the Turkish scholar Dr. Osman Aytekin, a professor at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University.
The assembly focused on exploring frameworks and opportunities for bilateral cooperation, building upon initiatives originally conceived between 2007 and 2008.
Additionally, the discussion addressed the quality and conservation methodology of the restoration works currently being executed by Turkish specialists at the Ishkhani Cathedral, as well as the proposed structural project for the upcoming restoration works planned at the Oshki Cathedral.
The meeting convened key institutional figures, including Mariam Didebulidze, Director of the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre; Dimitri Tumanishvili, Chairman of the Center’s Scientific Council; David Khoshtaria, Head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval Georgian Art; Irene Elizbarashvili, Senior Researcher; Irene Giviashvili, Associate Researcher; and Baadur Kupreishvili, Archival Specialist at the Center.
