On 7 November 2011, the Center for the Spiritual and Intellectual Development of Youth at the Patriarchate of Georgia hosted a commemorative evening dedicated to the centenary of Dr. Leonide (Leo) Shervashidze.
The event was chaired by Ms. Asmat Shervashidze. Prominent representatives of the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre, Professor Kitsi Matchabeli and Dr. Mariam Didebulidze, addressed the audience regarding Leo Shervashidze’s scholarly contributions. Further speeches were delivered by Mr. Vakhtang Japaridze and Professor Giorgi Anchabadze.
At the conclusion of the commemorative evening, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, spoke about the life and legacy of Leo Shervashidze.
The commemorative evening was co-organized by the House of Heraldry, the Assembly of Georgian Nobility, and the Center for the Spiritual and Intellectual Development of Youth at the Patriarchate of Georgia.
