On April 19, 2011, in Tbilisi, at the conference hall of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, a roundtable was held on the theme “The Identity and Spirit of Old Tbilisi.” This event served as the concluding session of a year-long series of conferences, seminars, and exhibitions jointly organized by the British Council, the Goethe-Institut, ICOMOS Georgia, and the International Center for Arts and Culture “Istoriali.”
The researchers of the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre were actively involved in the aforementioned conferences and seminars.
Mariam Didebulidze, Director of the Centre, alongside senior researchers Maia Mania and Manana Suramelashvili, participated in the proceedings of the round table.
As a result of the round table, a set of recommendations was prepared for the city administration concerning preservation measures for the urban heritage of Old Tbilisi.
