On May 4, 2009, the Programized Center for Georgian Studies at the Harriman Institute of Columbia University in New York hosted the 3rd Annual Symposium dedicated to Georgia, titled “Georgia at the Crossroads of European and Asian Cultures.”
Professor Mariam Didebulidze, Director of the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation, and Mzia Chikhradze, Senior Researcher at the Centre, participated in the symposium.
Professor Mariam Didebulidze presented a paper titled “The Cultural Heritage of Abkhazia,” while Mzia Chikhradze delivered a presentation on “Integration/Expansion: Georgian-Russian Cultural Relations in the 1910s–1980s.”
