On May 2–5, 2011, under the auspices of the Tbilisi City Hall and the City Assembly, and with the support of the World Bank, the Tbilisi Economic Development Forum was convened, bringing together international urban planning experts from various countries. For the elaboration of the Tbilisi development strategy, among numerous other issues, the preservation and development of the historical and cultural heritage of the Old City were discussed, along with methods for integrating the associated objectives into the city’s development strategy.
Mariam Didebulidze, Director of the Chubinashvili Centre, alongside researchers Manana Suramelashvili, Mariam Gachechiladze, Tsitsino Chachkhunashvili, and others, participated in the proceedings of the conference.
