On June 8, 2011, at the Tbilisi History Museum (Karvasla), a jubilee exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the renowned architect Mikhail Kalashnikov (1886–1969) was organized by the Georgian National Museum, the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre, the International Cultural-Educational Association “Russian Club,” and the Union of Architects of Georgia. The exhibition showcased architectural surveys, sketches, and previously unknown photographs executed by the architect. The exhibition was curated by Tamaz Gersamia, a researcher at the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre.
Tamaz Gersamia, Mariam Didebulidze (Director of the Centre), and Kirill Fomin (heir of Mikhail Kalashnikov) spoke about the contributions of Mikhail Kalashnikov and the significance of the exhibition. Giga Batiashvili and Lika Mamatsashvili also delivered speeches.
