On December 22, 2015, an academic conference titled Cultural Heritage Under Occupation was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The conference was chaired by Giorgi Patashuri, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Abkhazia.
Research fellows from the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre—A. Okropiridze, T. Khundadze, T. Dadiani, M. Didebulidze, and L. Khuskivadze presented papers at the event. The presentations were dedicated to various domains of Abkhazia’s rich cultural heritage and examined their current state of preservation.
