On May 13–16, 2014, Tbilisi hosted the 5th International Symposium titled “The Tradition of the Veneration of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Orthodox Church.” The symposium was organized by the International Center for Christian Studies at the Orthodox Church of Georgia.
Dr. Mariam Didebulidze and Dr. Asmat Okropiridze, researchers from the George Chubinashvili National Research Centre, participated in the symposium. They presented the following papers: “The Tradition of Depicting the Virgin Mary in Medieval Georgian Art” and “Towards the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Atskuri.”
The symposium brought together both Georgian and international scholars, alongside members of the clergy.
